Sweets for the Georgia Peaches!
Who doesn’t love a sweet treat every once in awhile? Walking along the River, you are tempted by two exquisite candy shops. You can smell them before you see them.
Along River Street, you will find the River Street Sweets and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. I have had the pleasure of sampling a little from both places. The fudge from Savannah’s Candy Kitchen was smooth and melted in your mouth. And the pralines at River Street Sweets were a big hit with the family.
On Broughton Street, you have Kilwin’s Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream. They were a company that started in Michigan and grew. If you are in the area, you should stop in and give them a try.
Are you in the mood for a cookie instead? If so, you should take a trip down White Bluff to find Two Smart Cookies. The name is definitely appropriate. The two owners are definitely smart cookies. What better way to welcome a friend’s or family member’s new addition, than with a cookie shaped onesie. They have numerous shapes to accomodate any event.
Savannah Cinnamon & Cookie Company offers more than just cookies. They have some wonderful mixes that will make your recipes pop. They even have their own recipes listed for you to follow.
The Gallery Expresso is great for a little coffee and a snack. No wait, it’s good for a lot more than that. They have a gift shop, gourmet coffee, baked goods, desserts, a lunch menu, and an art exhibition. On top of that, they are pet friendly!
Last but not least, there is the Byrd Cookie Company. They offer some unique cookies and gift ideas. They even have their own Paula Deen Collection. There most unique offering is there “vote with taste” tins. May be someone should tell the Presidential Candidates about these!
